Gumba1000 I recall our family had a caravan holiday, not in Cornwall but Devon, round about 1960s I suppose. Uncle, aunt and cousin too, in the adjacent caravan.
These were static 'vans, on a site just outside Dawlish; quite basic and with what intrigued my sister, brother and I, gas lights.
I forget what we all did but Dawlish Warren railway station and that famous sea wall were only short walks away.
In later years we enjoyed a couple of holidays at Mullion, in Cornwall, but this time using our own caravanette (VW based) augmented with a tent.
