I Think This Might Be The Year When Gifts Of Food Will Become The Trend For Christmas Gift-Giving…

With looming food shortages due to food processing facilities being destroyed by fires or whatever and floods wiping out crops and stored grains etc.
Food baskets with beans, rice, potatoes & other staples. I don’t know how many are stocking up and trying to figure out what they need but it will get critical eventually.

Great idea! Aldi gift cards would be nice too.

@Crazywaterspring According to local news, Aldis is the favorite grocery store for Oklahomans. Interesting because the stores are so small and don’t carry a huge variety of each item like the larger stores do. But they cut their overhead that way and also don’t have to hire cart-pushers to bring the carts back. So the prices remain a lot lower than places like Walmart.

@cherokeepatti Many Walmarts in Texas have Aldi as a neighbor. How close? You can see them from each other's parking lots. I love cooking and grocery shopping. Aldi has 90% of what most people need. Walmart can usually be beat by Aldi and sometimes even Albertsons and Kroger.

@Crazywaterspring A lady told me 3 years ago that she bought everything for her Thanksgiving dinner at Aldi with the exception of aluminum foil because they didn’t have the wide heavy duty foil she needed. I thought that was cool. You don’t have to wear yourself going all over a big store like Walmart to find everything and then stand in lines or be expected to self-check. Aldi is rather quick to get out of too. If the line is too long they call someone from the back to open up another register.

@Crazywaterspring I’ve been saying this since the first day I stepped foot in one. We didn’t have one in my city. A customer at Walmart (when I was a greeter in 2012) told me two different times that she buys her groceries at Aldi in the next city due to the prices being so much less. After I quit Walmart I drove up there (not much farther than driving to the opposite side of this city and Moore has a business corridor on 19th street that has every kind of store I shop regularly at) and I took my sweet time checking out prices and was impressed. Now my city has 2 Aldis in it and I also shop at those.

@cherokeepatti Aldi can be a dangerous place starting at about this time of year. German holiday goodies are showing up.
