I now officially LOVE icehockey😍

Saw my first real life game last night between international players 🇨🇦 v 🇺🇸, and DAYUM ! 💪😛

Sooooo Goooooood !

Being charity games i know it didn't have the intensity of true team rivalry, but the last few minutes of each period got pretty fast and smashy.

I LOVED it !

Had the luxury of being rink side on the glass on a corner, so quite a few smashes against the barrier right in front of us - got all the sounds of just how hard they play.
The whizzing of the puck as it ran the boards like a pinball, the clack of stickwork, the crack as the puck flew into the glass, the smacktalk- it was really visceral ....and nearly everything i hoped it would be🤗

I can't wait for them to come back !

Im so grateful to all these players for donating their time and effort to play in their off-season for us🤗

Also, if anyone has reccomemdations for good position of seats to view from, please add.
I did love being on the glass, but i think next year i wanna be higher up to follow the whole play better.

@RebelRaven damn straight 💪.
Disappointingly Ive never got to play it for real.

This was a bucket list thing. So glad i got to see it.

@OogieBoogie At least the tectonic plates are always shifting. Some day you may become a close distance fan
higher up is better as one sees the entire ice. i've sat in row one before and it sucked. it was cool seeing the players eyes as they were about to hit somebody but one can't see the entire play...i've seen tons of nhl games but the best seat is about 10 rows up at centre ice. i once had seats that were owned by the owner of the canucks. glad you could enjoy 🤗
@beermeplease thanks....i do feel i wanna be higher up to be able to follow all the play.

I still loved the front row experience, i got to see at least 3/4 of the ice, but the more i watched, the more i got into how quick the game changed, seeing plays thwarted and advantages grabbed.
Its sorta halts flow when you cant see what's going down.

@beermeplease I knew you would be replying to this post. Hockey to me is one sport that's easier to follow live then on TV because of all the camera chasing. The last game I saw was at the old Capital Centre in Landover Maryland. Home of the capitals before they moved into that atrocious city called DC.

Next will be snowmobiling! 🤣

Glad you enjoyed it.

I find the higher up you go, the slower the game play seems. Personally, I like ice level behind the net. The near sensation of the players getting stapled to the boards just makes it for me.

glad you liked it
Did you come to North America, or did they come to you?
