NHL hockey scam
Hockey is a game, plain and simple. It generates huge amounts of money and is a source of entertainment. It isn't government regulated but makes money like a small country.
NHL Country.
You won't see Trump jumping into it and putting his name on all the pucks, maybe all arenas have to begin with Trump. Nope, he has no control over that.. but he likely IS friends with the Billionaire NHL owners, so if he calls his friend one day and says "If you want to build that new arena, I can help with that, but I want my team to win" and that is all that needs to be said. It will come down from the top, and lo and behold, that team will win.
You won't notice it unless you are looking for it.
That best player who scores all the goals, suddenly misses the open net. Puck goes left or right, or over the top.. oops.
The goalie who has a high save record suddenly misses with this glove and the puck goes in. An easy save.. oops.
The replacement goalie who lets 3 goals in with 3 shots and then is replaced, and the team still wins. They keep that goalie though, he might be told to make some saves next time, he is a good actor.
It is all there to get you excited and to think all of these things are real and not a Hollywood script.
Did you see the beginning of the Montreal Buffalo game last night? Montreal fans were going nuts, jumping around screaming, cheering on their team. They could have won and advanced.
When they show the players though, they have their heads bowed and are not excited at all. That is because they already knew they were going to lose. No matter how good a player they are, they have been told to take it to 7. They were not allowed to win in 6.. at home.. that will not do for the Americans. They had been told to make mistakes, get lots of dumb penalties, and let Buffalo win.
And they did.
Huge amounts of profits in a 7th game, take it to the limit.
What happens in the 7th game? It is written on a piece of paper someplace. Now THAT'S entertainment.
