I fully agree. I think that's probably the difference to just being a kink and a full blown fetish. It's obsession with one.

Being completely obsessed about something is never a good thing. Probably requires some therapy at some point.

I guess it all comes down to a lack of healthy outlets.
If an individual doesn't have healthy ways to express and manage their desires, they may become fixated on a particular kink or fetish as a means of release.
