Is having mental health issues a solid reason for routinely treating people like shit, while not expecting to be held accountable for it?

I think using the "I have a mental disorder" excuse for poor behavior only goes so far. Eventually the people around you that you've been mistreating will need to put up their own boundaries for personal protection from your abuse.
