Is it ok to use people?

Maybe I don’t have genuine emotion for anyone and they don’t for me, either. Everyone just has a use in each other’s life and when someone is useless to another, they are simply discarded and replaced. Rarely do you see genuine acts of kindness and generosity.

I used to be a “nice” person, but it’s not practical. Be smart, be selfish and don’t take a bullet for anyone

It is never okay to use someone. Of course everyone has their need, but that doesn't mean using someone...

Just because you personally don't have any genuine emotions for others it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. My emotions are real with others. I've always been that way. To only be selfish will lead to a very isolated lonely life. To have no boundaries will make you someone's carpet. I always say find the balance between an egocentric ass and a simp. Be kind but know where to set your boundaries, how, and when.
