I remember watching a YouTube vid ages ago about free will and veganism

The YouTuber was talking about how they loved all their haters who hated them for being vegan because the haters didn't choose to be this way because free will doesn't exist ....

But in the same video they were also encouraging people to go vegan?

And it's like fam, how can I go vegan if free will isn't a thing?
If free will isn't a thing then I don't choose to eat meat, I just do 🤷

Lol, if I ever find the video again, I have to post it 😂

I actually think there's some merit to what they're saying. If someone's born in say, Saudi Arabia, there's a near certainty that they will become a Muslim. If someone's born in Spain, there's a near certainty that they will become a Christian. If someone's born in a carnist society, there's a near certainty that they will become carnists. It logically follows that if someone were born in a vegan society, they would probably become a vegan. None of this is to say that free will "doesn't exist", but it kinda does prove that most of the shit which defines us is a product of our circumstances rather than our own conscious will. And from there, it makes sense to judge someone a lot less for holding ideas that they were indoctrinated into.
I identify as vegan who eats ribeyes and bacon
