Wearing or not wearing a watch, rings, etc.

Years ago I was a watch guy - then once I got mobile phones I abandoned watches. Some people are die-hard watch fanatics and you're considered naked if you don't have one.

Most of the time knowing the time isn't important anyway.

Same sort of applies with rings - lots of people have them, but loads more don't. Lots of people have rings that have nothing to do with being married/engaged/attached/inlove. Plenty of people (women in particular) wear rings to give the impression they're married/attached when they're not.

Having never been married myself the infatuation with rings and stuff like heirloom pieces is lost on me.

I'm a watch guy, and I've heard "them" say that they are obsolete, just use your phone, but I think it still says something about a man who wears a watch.

@chrisCA In terms of ,,,,, ?? Potential social status, wealth, partner and baby-making?

I would believe that.

Nah, none of those. I think it just shows maturity and confidence in one self appearance.
Although, the baby making part may come into play.

Accessories such as a watch, pocket square or scarf make a man's outfit complete.

There's nothing like a well dressed man, and the women notice, and appreciate it.

Large, thick, brass bangle, left wrist. Has some nicks from deflecting close blows.
I haven't worn a watch in over ten years.
