What do you think reveals the most about a person without knowing much about them?

Why?

A genuine attempt to question oneself and admit one may have got something wrong. It could be from lack of attention or even change of mood after a period of time .

@alan20 Indeed. But how would the other person know this?

@SW-User I suppose from an intuitive response to the person's makeup. Interactions are personal; that's why I feel that private messages might be better than public. Also why I've been keen to make it clear from the outset that I am married and am not looking for another partner. What I joined this site for was a like-minded friend. It's arguable that a relationship between a man and a woman will always have a sexual basis but I think feeling it 's bound to come to dominate is a depressing view of human relationships.

@alan20 I don't find it to be true that
It's arguable that a relationship between a man and a woman will always have a sexual basis but I think feeling it 's bound to come to dominate is a depressing view of human relationships.
I've heard a few people, come to think of it men only say this. But I have had male friends without any sexual chemistry or basis. It would be a sad world to not be able to have friends of the opposite gender.

@SW-User You may be right but speaking personally I've always found I relate more to women than men. Maybe for me it IS a sad world, whatever the reason. I've been superficially friendly with some men but never emotionally involved ; more like respect or admiration (at best!). I can learn (and hopefully teach) more from women.

@alan20 I've always related a lot more to men than women. It's not that I am masculine and it's not even that there is any kind of sexual tension with men who have been friends. I just find more common ground and I enjoy their company.

@SW-User Thank you for writing again. I very much value your friendship. I'll write at more length later.
