Do you never ever get electricity shut down where you live at?

The way people talk about the energy crisis make it sound like they will die without it.

No! Well except when I lived near the ocean and a hurricane would come through once in a while.

I will 🥺 I need A.C. and Ice

(This was a joke response, but thinking about it more, I do need electricity for a machine for my health)

@Viper ever had hurricane damage your house? Or just the side storms?

@Miram I'd say I've never had major hurricane damage, usually power being out a couple of days was the worst, though one year it was flooding but stopped about a 100 meters from my house.

Never went through a hurricane stronger than Category 1, my Dad's rule was if it's going to be a Category 2 or higher, we're leaving... and we almost left a couple of times, but it dropped down before hitting.

Before we moved into that house, we had it inspected, and roof was bad... so they made the owners agree to pay for a replacement before allowing the sell and during that, I watched a tall, but extremely thin and seemingly very light young man literally fall through the roof... from water damage...

Lucky for him, it was sort of a slow motion thing, where it was fast enough he couldn't get out of the way, but slow him he was able to realize it, process it, and grab a joist (which lucky wasn't water damaged) and was able to catch himself...

So basically, he went from standing on the roof, to falling into a pull up position from the joist... other than some scratches and maybe a clean pair of underwear, he was alright, and had a fun story to tell.
