Do you never ever get electricity shut down where you live at?

The way people talk about the energy crisis make it sound like they will die without it.

Yes I've lost power for days in the dead of winter it can be deadly that and excessive heat. We have had blackouts due to heat too

@SW-User if you make preparations and stay warm it won't be.

Only peeps with chronic illnesses need be excessively concerned

@Miram I've been okay it's the elderly, the sick, and homeless that die here during those events :( Last year we had over 100 people die in two days in my city just due to excessive heat and having no way to cool down

@SW-User now this is legitimate concern .

It is crazy that anyone would be homeless when there is so much land to build homes in.

And empty properties too.

We have the same problem in cities. You move further away, you will find less power reliance but also no homelessness

I have to admit though that it is cultural. People don't expect their kids to move out in specific age. And everyone is partly responsible for everyone being safe.

@Miram we have a crisis in my city of homeless they live in tents along the freeway and in neighborhoods and sidewalks and there is a serious drug problem. The community is really struggling and no one seems to be able to figure out how to fix it. We have shelters, but people don't use them and it's really sad state of affairs

@SW-User

I know too much about the abuse in shelters to support them.

@Miram yes I know they can be bad
