Intelligence is like vision or any sense perception.
When I have limited perception, there's a lot I miss - and only sometimes does other evidence reflect that something's missing.
To the extent that I cannot see, I literally can't know what I'm missing.
So arrogance is a form of ignorance and absence of thinking skills.
The brightest people tend to be very modest because they know how infinite the realms of knowledge and thinking are.
