:) Every 3 or 4 years I receive an e-mail from an old high school classmate telling me how we were such great friends, reminding me of all the great times wh had in high school and that he wants to reconnect and close the gap.
I respond and validate his feelings and invest 4 or 5 paragraphs to bring him up to date to tell him about my life since those good old days.
And I don't hear from him again for another 3 or 4 years when he goes back to step 1 :)
I have mixed feelings about reconnecting. It's great to say hi again, but there's probably also good reason why you grew apart. For me, a reconnection may help keep me connected to my roots, but unlikely that I will pick up where we left off. We've both become different people over the years.
