Honestly I run a “business” where I find things someone is trying to sell for nothing and sell it for more

I have an Etsy shop where I sell clothes I handmake

You don’t need a license really all you need is creativity and a phone/computer

I saw this video online of this Christian I sometimes watch who has a business helping others start theirs or something and she helped out in this lipstick business or something by buying the lipsticks for cheaper from some Asian manufacturer and then selling them for more expensive or something. I think she said the profit from it was going to be like $800 or something. But do you know where I would go to buy things for much cheaper that are new, to sell for more? Like a reliable website or something? I'm doing school online currently and don't have a job even though I have tried finding one I gave up kind of but I guess I could start looking again. @DeluxedEdition

@MightyLion brace yourself for the novel i am about to write bahahahahah

okay it really depends on the amount of items you are trying to sell. for example if you are beginning it's better to start smaller, and work your way up to the bigger places to get items but yes there are plenty of places to get items.

If you are beginning you need to know the main niches online categories that sell which are makeup/beauty, car parts, designer (gucci, prada, chanel), medical items, electronics (computer, technology, PHONES, cameras), baby items, tools, fashion, and random misc items that sell because they are rare and unique (my pillow for example)

when you are starting small you will want to get items for cheaper off of facebook marketplace, offerup, letgo, mercari, yard sales, garage sales, thrift shops, even ebay. I will give you a speicifc example i found a nintendo dsi xl in perfect condition it was dead and the person didn't have a charger or pencil for it and was grown and didn't GAF about it. I bought it for $20 off of mercari and was able to buy a new charger and pencil for $8 and a nintendo dsl can go for as much as $300. I appealed to the electronic niche in this example. You want to appeal to a niche and put passion aside on this one, unfortunately. A lot of people thrift shop cameras. I also found someone doing a bundle on mercari (again) for 5 sims 2 games selling for $4 each. I bought as many as she would sell me because i knew one day they would be worth something. Just one of the extensions are worth $30 now. Often times i find furniture on the side of the road and take it or fix it up and resell it. free money, full profit, nothing invested whatsoever.

when you get bigger you will spend over $1000 on items which is why i say wait until you get here. you will end up with about 500-1000 items which you will sell for $10-20 or whatever the item is worth. You make your money back gradually. When you're at this point you will need a website. you can sell your items on amazon, ebay, fb marketplace, whole sale (contracts with people), through your website (fiverr, godaddy, shopify, and many more)

when you buy from this large whole sale websites you will quite literally have to study the chinese culture and how to interact accordingly. yes, it's that serious. Because you will have to contact these people professionally through email and know what kind of deals you are getting and quite honestly in the business world if they recognize you're new they will try to rip you off. You will need to study indian and middle eastern culture as well. You will really need to focus on Chinese culture because it's much more intense and structured. there are plenty of online resources that will show you how to do this. make sure you are searching for how to do it for business purposes because all of the information you will be taking in is vital.
the reason i named those three groups is those are the main groups whom you will be buying wholesale from. from websites like alibaba.com, IndiaMART, madeinchina.com, ECplaza, ECVV, ExportersIndia, www.makeoverservice.com, www.trademalaysia.com,eWorldTrade

when you are deciding what to sell you can use resources like GoogleTrends, Google Keyword, Planner, KWFinder and these websites will actually show you what is trending online which will give you a better idea what to sell

@MightyLion and honestly we are so lucky to be in an age and time where we have so many free resources to help us. USE whatever resources you can. Don't let anyone make you feel any type of way amazon started in a garage

Thank you for all the information! I am also curious about how to get things out to customers? @DeluxedEdition
MightyLion · 22-25, M
Also, can I ask what are some ways people might try to rip me off in the business world? @DeluxedEdition
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@MightyLion you do it through outlet's like facebook marketplace, letgo,(local selling app) offerup(local selling app), mercari, ebay, some people do amazon but there is a fee
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@MightyLion when you are selling larger shipments if the sellers are aware that you are an amateur they will try to sell you a shitty deal basically. They won't do you any favors. Everything is negotiable! They count/hope you won't know that

I've got a how-to book I'm writing with little competition and am curious how to get it out there myself. Any ideas?
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@PatKirby my honest opinion is social media. I Have written an ebook and got nearly 400 reads on it through marketing my book on twitter and Facebook and instragram. I would include the link in my bios of every social media account I owned. and It sounds cheesy but if you’re ever on Facebook and your comment gets a lot of likes or goes viral that is an epic opportunity to post a link for your book!

Any social media platform you put a link to your book in your bio like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, similar works, or you mention the name of the book or introduce yourself as the author of xyz book”

Definitely publish it as an ebook so it’s easily accessible. In this day and age the only way you sell out as a hard back is if you’re already a famous author

Join book clubs on Facebook where people recommend good books to each other and take advantage of people actively looking for good reads

Join websites that do the same. 😀

@PatKirby you’ll do fine because your book is a topic that’s actively searched up. You’re welcome 😊
