@SunshineGirl One of the things I can do once finished with my part time degree this year, is explore more local churches as our County has a few.
That's a really interesting to hear as he seems to know his stuff, so you must have some great local knowledge!
It was bizzare and surreal to see the notes I highlighted for the church my wife and I were married in- before I even knew her!

@BritishFailedAesthetic Just personal preferences. I tend to look for monuments and sculptures and windows and furniture with local associations.
It's a nice thing to do when you have the time, but unfortunately fewer churches seem to be unlocked outside of services.
