Is it normal to be a paleontology enthusiast like this?

Paleontology is one of my hobbies, I however don't collect fossils and don't really know much about anatomy. I enjoy the subjects by getting books about the creatures, looking at the artwork, and watching some of the documentaries where they recreate the animals in their environment. I don't ever plan on doing it for a job, it's just I interest that I read about as a hobby.

Sure! Everyone has a topic of interest. Mine is language. Almost anything to do with language. Learning new languages, learning new vocab in my current language, reading, writing, the history of language etc.

All my grandsons went through that phase. I guess you just haven't grown out of it.
