Ever been geocaching?

My fiancee and I are planning to try it today 😀
Bearsfan67 · 56-60, M
My gf turned me on to it and it’s actually a lot of fun. Kinda like a scavenger hunt for grown ups
Yeah did it for a couple years long ago. Good fun with friends or a loved one
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Teggy Cool! I am excited to try this!
Trekker · 51-55, M
I used to geocach with my kid when he was younger. I had a couple gps devices from backpacking so he got to use the devices and find the cache.

It was pretty fun, though could be disappointing when we couldn't find it. I started to make or get really nice decorative items to put in the cache when we found them.

@Trekker Today was the first time we tried it and it was fun! We found 2, but missed two. Had to come home early because it was getting hot outside. Can't wait to do it again. We also plan to buy decorative items to put in the cache.

@MeowsoliniReturns If you know anyone who has empty diabetic test strip containers, they are very durable and snap shut good, would be a good thing to put small items in for geocaching. I have a lot of them someone else gave me. I think they’d be perfect for smaller items.
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@cherokeepatti That's a great idea!! Thanks!
Mindful · 56-60, F
Sounds FUN (for healthy able bodied folks)
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@Mindful Hmmm ... as a caregiver, I'm trying to imagine ways to include the non-able bodied.
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
Sounds fun. Let us know if you like it!
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@ChampagneOnIce Thank you! I will!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
No but knew someone who did it for a hobby about 20 years ago, he really was into it. He had a collection of his finds. Was telling me what all you could replace the things you find with so the next person would find something.
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@cherokeepatti Yep! Can't wait to do more of it.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MeowsoliniReturns It sounds like fun. But gas money is the expense of it. Why not though, it’s like a little road trip to go on Geocache runs isn’t it?
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@cherokeepatti Yep! Exactly!
Spumoni · 46-50, M
It's fun! I use to take the kids out.
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Spumoni It is!

@SW-User Thanks!

Reaching for enlightenment: What's "geocaching"?
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@MeowsoliniReturns Oh ... and thanks!
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Heartlander You're welcome
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Heartlander You can do it alone, with friends, or on teams.
Lumberjack70 · 56-60, M
I did this for a couple summers with my kids. We had so much fun! Sadly, they grew out of it. I’m glad we did it though. Enjoy!
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Lumberjack70 Thanks! First time was today. People driving by must have thought we were nuts wandering around looking at ground, lol.
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
Haven’t tried it. Sounds like you had fun though! Sounds like a good adventure.
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Harmonium1923 It is a lot of fun!
turnedtostone · 56-60, F
I read this "grouching" and was going to answer " Oh,yes"
StyleCat · M
I know a guy that did that, he was an interesting fellow.
I took my daughter to do that for Girl Scouts last year.

How did it go?
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@SW-User We found two, missed two.
SW-User
@MeowsoliniReturns Very nice! Would love to do it again. Relaxing and fun. And best of all it gets you outdoors.
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@SW-User Yes, it does! We need to get out more.
Gangstress · 41-45, F
This sounds so much fun
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Gangstress I'll bet you can do it there!
MethDozer · M
Yeah, I leave joints in return for the trinket when I find them.
Sadly I got sick before I heard about geocaching, I wish I had the strength and energy to do it.
@MeowsoliniReturns LOL Indeed, but I did love shopping at the Burlingame Freddy's, as well as Tigard too
@MeowsoliniReturns By what I have seen on the news, any by friends still out there, by quite a lot. I blame Vera Katz, the New York carpetbagger, if she had not invited all the calis up during the 90's dot com boom, Portland would not have been so drastically changed, I also blame that abominable show, Portlandia.
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@NativePortlander1970 Yep!! I too, hated that show.
