Between the company, and rain we've had this summer... we are getting it done. It took awhile to just sink the posts. We hit slate, terrible time digging those hole for the posts. But almost done!
Slate and shale are tough digging and a lot of using what I call a spud bar to chip away in the hole so you can use the post hole digger to clean out the chippings. Rough but worth it in the end.
@Dino11 we did pour concrete in the holes and added dirt on top. Getting gravel for the floor, let it drain. One of the reasons I didn't want a kit was worrying about wind. Living here in a holler, the wind comes from all directions.
@icedsky nope, but the sandy layer of soil had Quartz in it. After a big rain, the Quartz pop out here ...even a few smokey Quartz. And an arrowhead once.
@Barny52 Thanks! It's a first for us. We are not carpenters 😬

I don't believe it! lol It's a greenhouse! Mine is a Harbor Freight 6x8. More simple for me and I got it really cheap! It's funny how we both are getting them done around the same time. It looks really good! :)
@SW-User hi! Taking a coffee break. My ...elderly rearend is dragging today....lol. Thanks!! Yup, I have noticed several similarities in what is unfolding in life for us. So happy for your greenhouse too. Good for the soul! Have a blessed week!

@ShadowWorker Thank you! Wishing you a blessed week too :) I love it when similarities bring some good conversation. Today, I had a two hour work meeting and am finally home to eat and take a break. I feel the same way... needing a nap! lol
@deathfairy Thank you. I wish it could of been bigger, but don't have much sunny spaces..or level ground. It will serve me perfectly for me planting my seeds this late winter.
@Stereoguy yup...that's it. Nothing fancy but better than using the basement and lights for my flats this winter..February. . Small enough to heat . No worries over getting water anywhere. I am proud of it!
