I'm trying to find a decent bowie knife for myself. I use to have one that my wife gave me for our first anniversary, but when a**holes broke into my apartment it was stolen. Here's a peek at what mine looked like when I had it.
There are knife brands everywhere but so few are actually decent. I hope that someone here might know a thing or two about them. Any suggestions?
The gentleman who did the advising/consulting on the film The Hunted...The man upon whom Tommy Lee Jones' character is based. The tracker fellow. I forget his name, but he does knives or so I believe.
You didn't mention price range or desired material or usage purpose but fellmark makes really excellent hand forged tools. Easily the best everyday carry/camp/utility knives. Super hard steel so you need a ceramic rod to sharpen it but once it is it stays sharp for a long time.
For my rigging knife I got one from Perkins. There are far more expensive options than Perkins but dollar for quality it's the best ratio for something that inherently can be lost in the drink.
I am not sure about Bowie knives but Carter Cuttlery does incredible knives. They are super expensive but sharper than razors..scary sharp. Ive had one for a decade. But for a great camp knife that does everything you can get some good ones from the pathfinder school. I have a couple that are tough as nails and my go to camp knife
HA! No, nothing like that lol It would be good to carry on my person while I'm working on the ranch. Something other than my revolver.@MoonaNorth86 @SW-User
