is it possible to become funny and learn how to create your own jokes? i think everyone just likes funny people. I feel like im competing with people for friendship and the funny ones always get friends.

I think it's a skill that can be practiced. But it requires practicing a bunch of other skills. Confidence in delivery, language to leverage expanded vocabulary, and the ability to read people's preferences on order to know what kind of humor appeals to them. Crude, witty, dark, there are a lot of styles but none are appreciated uniformly
