God has said He does not want us worshiping nature, or the sun or moon.

God said not to worship the moon, the stars or the Sun, is because they are not gods. They are only things in nature and they cannot help us nor do anything for us. We know they are not gods to be worshiped, because man has been to the Moon and he has seen that it is not a god; only a barren planet, nothing built on it, just dirt, certain minerals, and rocks/mountains. It cannot see, hear, nor speak, nor have any understanding. It is God who created them, so He is to be worshiped only. God wants us to trust in Him for knowledge and wisdom.

James 1:5 says If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all, without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

What does the Bible say about the Sun and the stars?

And beware not to lift up your eyes to heaven and see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, and be drawn away and worship them and serve them, those which the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven. Deuteronomy 17:3

The same book says you should be killed for wearing a poly cotton blend too.

I don't answer to the god of some desert tribe from a culture I have no connection to.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I think you should get to know Him, because one day we'll all stand before Him, all people will, whether any believe in Him or not.

@LadyGrace There is so much presumption in that response.

And I know who I will face when the time comes and it is not Yahweh.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I'm glad you're sure, but that's not what the Bible teaches and there's no presuming. All of God's prophecies and predictions have come to pass up to this time.
@LadyGrace Again, I am not really interested in what your religious book has to say. I have read it. It teaches all kinds of crazy and frankly dangerous things.

And your claims about bible prophecy and predictions is just factually wrong.

Also I never had any experience with the divine until I walked out of church and never looked back.

First of all, it's not my religious book, and it's not just any religious book and the fact is, it doesn't say crazy and dangerous things. Jesus never came to hurt people, but to save them from the sin that is in all of us, not just some, as sin keeps us separated from God in heaven. I sure don't know what type of church you went to but that's not what Jesus says in His Word. He didn't come to condemn people he came to save them from the condemnation that sin placed on us. And he died to show his love for us. He didn't have to do that. This is not a person that is out to hurt us, but came to save us. God's prophecies have come to pass exactly as I said. Careful Bible study shows the same. I'm sorry you had a bad experience at church. That sounds like an awful Church. It sounds like a cult. And if so I'm sorry you experienced that. It is certainly one that God would not approve of. There are many false teachers and prophets in this world.
@LadyGrace Thank you for telling me, without telling me you have either never read, or don't understand your bible.

And it is your book. I am no Christian and it holds no power over me.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow You're welcome. I don't think there's a need for people to be uncivil with each other or to argue about these things, but to just talk friendly. That's what God teaches, to love one another, not find fault. It is so sad that that church did not treat you as you deserve to be treated, with love. And Jesus loves you more than you could ever know, no matter what someone may have told you. I certainly didn't write the Bible and so it's not my book. I treasure it as a book of wisdom because God wrote it and left it for a mankind, so he wouldn't have to guess how to get to heaven, but I did not write it. I only make reference to what God said in His Word.

Salvation has absolutely nothing to do with religion, but receiving Christ as Savior and allowing the Holy Spirit to transform our lives for the better. Did that church even explain to you why Jesus came to this earth? And I'm not asking you to believe it, that's up to you, but God is asking you to believe it because we all do have souls and when we die it's up to us to determine where they will spend eternity and God doesn't want anyone to miss heaven. If we leave that to chance, Jesus said our sins will keep us separated from God until we ask him to forgive us. Our soul is something we just can't ignore. God did not ask that much, but he gave so much for us on the cross, so we could have heaven for eternity when we die. We certainly would not want to leave our souls to chance and do nothing. If so, we'll stay separated from God and heaven. Jesus not only said he loves us, he proved it on the cross by paying for our sins. Did your church teach you John 3:16 and 17? Here it is. These are promises from God and he never breaks a promise.

Did that church even tell you how much Jesus loves you? He gave his very life for you. He gave his very life for the world, because we're all in the same boat and none better than the other. We all need Jesus. He didn't have to pay for our sins on the cross but he did, though he suffered in such agony. He didn't have to do that but he did because he was proving to us how much he loves us. He loves you and me and the world more than words could say and he proved it on the cross.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I ask you humbly to please read the following to give you the real picture of who Jesus really is. If you don't want to that's okay but I humbly ask you to.

@LadyGrace He claims he's not interested in what the Bible says while posting to your message about the Bible. Apparently, he is interested and you are doing God's work by bringing him a message he claims he doesn't want to hear. You are on the right track.
