Veneers! Veneers! Veneers!

I'm just going to be straight with you.
If you have healthy teeth (no cavities, slightly yellow, maybe a little crooked) please don't get veneers to correct the issue.
Consult and figure out other options.
Other options, braces, whitening, hygienst clean, resin/composite build up (although you may get staining)
Because once you do this...

There's no going back...
You could also end up with awful results like this

You can't build up on the filed down teeth, you can only have veneers on them.
The first cementing is the best and only most secure fit of the veneer when successful, sometimes they have to file the teeth again to get a better surface to work with.
Think of nerves, sensitivity... Pain!

When you're young you want quick fixes...
Patience is key.
Many people don't understand that this is a lifetime maintainance thing (15 years is the average length of time these can last)
The next step after a problem is a bridge, denture or implant.

Implants are roughly a 6 month process if handled correctly...

Just spreading healthy advice, look after what you have.

Plus veneers cost a small fortune

@Lilymoon 5k for one implant. :(

@LunarOrbit wow!!... and not covered by insurance either

@Lilymoon Some insurance companies know the alternative is a partial (which is covered) so they put that amount towards the cost of the implant.

You can't affix veneers in a way that makes them as strong as you'd like, but the next option isn't drastic dental implants. I've got crowns and it's no fun, but the process is significantly easier than implants.

@Mellowgirl Most of my crowns (and there are many) don't sit on top of a root canal. It seems to me like a stop-gap between something like veneers and full implants (and thanks for the tidbit on those). Personally, I'm waiting for the option to have a one-time titanium implant set done and call it a day - maybe someday.

@Graylight did you look after your teeth.
There's no reason to crown perfectly healthy teeth.

@Mellowgirl Oh, they're not healthy. The running joke is that I got the same chalk for teeth as my father. I've had trouble since I started having teeth removed for space at 7yo.

I'm not a sideshow freak; I have a beautifully engineered smile, but it's only mine 'cause I paid for it.
Oof, these botched up jobs make me cringe so hard😩
