They claim it's all about the cost - you know, financial responsibility. Which, if you take a look at the numbers, is unadulterated B.S. It is much less expensive to care for and provide for preventive care than to treat, which by law, has to be done, if they present with any illness or injury.
So, in all honesty, the only reason I can come up with is they are the party of "you aren't like me, so you don't matter".
