Would you say most ppl are sexually repressed?

They seem to have a very juvenile attitude towards it, what is wrong with ppl?

Historically, people have been guilted about it because others are insecure and jealous and think everyone is having more fun than they are. If everyone just lightened up, everyone could have fun, and stop caring what other people are getting up to.

You can pm sometime. That might be nice

It's because we live in a pretty oppressive society.
Want proof of that ?
Find out how many U.S. states have a sex ed class in their schools !
Because nobody talks about it as free thinking adults. Folk get stuck in the mindset of 14 year olds !
So it becomes something to snigger about with friends, but creates real problems when those same teens become adults.

@Picklebobble2: you're right. They teach us how to balance chemical equations and what a parabola is in calculus. But nothing about credit, taxes, or loans. That last stuff would have been useful

@Justlilme: When you think about it. What did you learn of any value in that last year of school ?
Wouldn't it have been better to have learned things that prepare you for life as an adult ?
How relationships are supposed to work ? Discovering and dealing with your sexuality ? Basic mathematics in a practical setting ? eg: Here is your salary prioritize what you think you'll need ?
Your rights and responsibilities under the law ?
How to fix a leak; what to do in a power outage; Basic cookery skills ??

I agree... I'm pretty lucky. I'm a farm girl. Grew up on a farm with a carpenter dad. So I know how to do most of the household practicalities. I don't know what school could've done about the sexuality part. I guess mine was ok. They taught us about birth control and safe sex at a young age. And the woman teachers, at least the young ones, made sure us girls new about planned parenthood for birth control

I would due to the shame women still often feel and men not being raised properly to inhabit their feelings and not feel guilt over it.

Don't care what ppl think my husband and I love sex.

Maybe it's because I live in southern California, or maybe it's because I grew up in the film world..but I have not observed much in the way of sexual repression here. In fact, frankly, it might be better if we imported some prudes (perhaps from Iowa or Nebraska) to help people here develop a few reasonable and appropriate sexual inhibitions.
Justlilme · 36-40, F
@greenmountaingal: I'm not so sure. I'm from Minnesota. If you brought a bunch of us there it might turn into Caligula! Lol

@greenmountaingal: they don't a particularly spiritual view towards sex

repressed and in their own traditional illusion ..
Justlilme · 36-40, F
Probably true. But monogamy is also important
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
It's worse when ppl turn it into something digusting
Justlilme · 36-40, F
Every being is a sexual being. Most "animals" only exist to eat and attempt to reproduce.
Justlilme · 36-40, F
Met a lot of guys like that. Lol
I don't really know. Some see it as a private thing and are happy with it that way. It's only really "repression" if someone else is telling you how to feel and you're not personally satisfied.
