I bite off my fingernails but then file and buff them and take good care of them otherwise.

@bearinthebigbluehouse: I was drunk and shot myself by accident because I thought I was John Wayne and was trying to spin a .22 revolver around my finger like a cowboy. I dropped it and it fired when it hit the ground and shot me in the leg.

@Marshmallow: I didn't know it was loaded anyway. If I had, I wouldn't have done that. I got lucky, anyway, because .22 is a small caliber and I also had a wallet in my pocket that the bullet passed through before hitting my leg, so it slowed down sufficiently and stuck in the muscle instead of hitting bone or anything.

@bearinthebigbluehouse: Being drunk is never fun. Alone or in the company of others. The only time I would ever drink was when I was already upset over something. Drinking made me angry and took my mind off of bad stuff.

@BlueMetalChick: Did you call the ambulance or go to hospital by yourself? Or.. you took out the bullet yourself by any chance???

@Marshmallow: This was on a camping trip so it was impractical to immediately rush to the hospital. My sister was with me though and she pulled out the bullet with a Swiss army knife, disinfected the wound, and bandaged it up neatly.
