Don't you think that people with some disease are better off dead than alive ?

Serious question.

People who have myopathy for example, they can't move, they can't study, they can't talk. All they do is breathe. I mean...Is this what living a life is ? They must be living hell.

I mean incurable disease than keep you from living a proper life since the first day.

A cousin of mine just died, and he had myopathy. And everyone is so sad, everyone but me. I honestly think that he's better where he is now, he wasn't living...

I don't disagree, but I do think that it could lead to wholesale disposal of all people who are inconveniently incapacitated.

I thought about it actually.
They'd kill everyone.
But seeing people not being able to do anything others do as something innate while they're just there watching and praying to be able to do it too even though they know that might never happen is so sad...

It explains the problems of euthanasia and tells what has occurred in countries like the Netherlands where it is legal and common.

When you see someone who is sick and in pain and suicidal, that patient is receiving poor pain management and probably poor medical care.

GreenMountainGal@ I agree with this and also with Serentree's answer....when you legal euthanasia it becomes a slippery slope to get rid of people who may be a "bother" to society to care for....where will it end?

@cherokeepatti: the HMOs and the insurance companies would love it. Euthanasia is a whole lot cheaper than hospice care.
