Anyone else suffer from severe dry eyes?

What do you use to help it?

No drops have ever given me lasting relief. I apply eye drops more than 10 times THROUGHOUT the night, which constantly disrupt my sleep, mood, and life.

I have tried many brands.
I have used the moist heat eye bean bag thing.
I use a sleep mask.

Nothing helps and it's getting to be unbearable

I'm assuming you are using preservative free eye drops since you are applying so often.

If standard otc drops don't work, compounding pharmacies can make drops that have slightly different formulations than otc drops. I think they can be formulated with different concentrations of non-prescription cellulose gum (Carboxymethylcellulose) that might provide additional relief. Your ophthalmologist can order the proper concentrations to try.

@TrunkZ according to my documentation, (Carboxymethylcellulose) irritates my eyes

@iamnikki OK. There may be other custom formulations that provide relief. Also, they may be able to formulate a custom drop with a prescription medication at a lesser dose that may not cause the side effects you experience to use in conjunction with the other otc drops. I know someone who uses the combination of otc artificial tears and two different compounded drops to get relief. Just another route you may be able explore.
