I'd walk out, and find another doctor

It wouldn't bother me at all.

I'd let them do the procedure, but I would be super uncomfortable whenever I had to wait on them.

I'd let them do it, but make funny jokes about it whenever I saw them at work.

You need to go to a specialist for an intimate exam or procedure...something like a colonoscopy or if you're a woman, maybe a pap smear.
You walk into your appointment and the doctor walks in and you realize that it's a customer from your work that you have waited on for years, but never knew their name.
Would you allow them to do the procedure, or walk out because you're embarrassed to get an intimate procedure done by a customer you've interacted with for years?

I think why it would bother me so much is because I was beaten by an ex husband when I was young, and I was bleeding from my kidney and had to go to the ER and they gave me a catheter...and the nurse that put it in was a girl that I went to high school with and we didn't get along in school at all..and then another time I was going to a therapist for what I went through with my ex, and I referred my best friend to the therapist. She came to me a few weeks later and told me word for word what I had talked about to the therapist in our sessions! I lost a lot of trust in doctors after that, and I always figured that the doctors talked about their patients to their spouse or friends.

@Mardrae that was not just awful, and unethical, it was illegal. So sorry about all of your experience. Talking about catheters, I developed a kidney stone and to make a long story short, ended up hospitalized and going to surgery one night. The circulating nurse, a woman, cane in to introduce herself and said she would be in the OR but would leave me to have some privacy. I responded, be serious, You are going to be not just see I g my naked body, but handling it, so don't leave, I'd rather have your support while I am awake.
