@CestManan Good.. You get it... Which means that unchecked this thing might roll back and forth across a large diverse nation like America for years, maybe Decades. That leaves you the option of trying to run a competitive nation in a leper colony, because tourism, entertainment and travel will all be crippled and America needs those to make any overseas income. Or biting the bullet and going the full zombie apocalypse treatment and locking the doors till this thing burns out. At this point either choice trashs America as an economy. 😷

@GERRI I dont give govt that much credit for being organised. In my state we have driven Covid infections down to zero for the past couple of days. Some other states have been covid free for some time. But the federal govt. (who are NOT responsible for health) are all about reopening and throwing the people under a bus, even in the face of what is happening elsewhere. Govts are only as good as the people who bought them. Which does go a long way to explaining America,😷

@whowasthatmaskedman In America, there are two different Federal Governments-- there is the "We The People" government that are the elected officials that answer to the people-- (only to a point, though) and then there is the bureaucratic government, that actually runs the show... Education, social reform, healthcare-- all ran by the Bureaucratic Government of America-- unelected and uncontrollable

This has always been the great strength of your country - something immediately obvious if you emigrated from somewhere where the "deep state" was weak, or underdeveloped, or truly under the thumb of the top leadership. Underneath the shifting waves of dilettante politicians, there was a core professional corps that put the job above party.

I could have said a lot of things....i was under the impression I was free to reply how I wanted, just as you were free to reply how you wanted. Only difference is I asked a question I didn’t tell how how you should’ve or could’ve responded @Platinum
