Think about it - it's a virus - a biological thing that lives in its host and kills the host. For a while the hoist spreads the virus to other hosts. It has no natural enemy. That's why they are working on a vaccine.
Politicians that say we gotta shut down until we beat the virus are actually saying they want government to control our lives so we can get used to that. They intend to keep a lid on us until THEY feel comfortable giving us a vaccine.
You want to know how long? Well, have vaccines conquered the flu?
I think Trump is right. We need to learn to live with it. When a vaccine is found, it will help, probably a lot. But beat the virus? I don't think so. China gave us a 'gift' that will keep on giving a long, long time.

The virus will likely never go away, so we're relying on an effective vaccine or else it's going to be years of this. That's the truth of it.
@curiosi people in general are sniveling cowards, they are going to stand up to Jack shit

The original prediction of Imperial College on UK is coming true....
Blue line indicates "restrictions" in place or not
Simply this will take years. It won't go away now it is in the human population. We need herd immunity probably via successful vaccines. That's probably 12 to 18 months away at earliest. But that's optimistic.
Hard to say. There’s a direct correlation between our behavior and continuing infections, so how bad it gets and for how long is largely up to us. The conspiracy theorists, anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers can go on about “personal freedom”, but so far all they’ve obtained for folks is the freedom to be sick and dying. 😞
It will end when governments decide to end it....90+% of the people testing positive only have mild symptoms , less than a cold ...more people are dying of flu, cancer, heart attacks, pneumonia and suicide than covid....we are being lied to...
@Picklebobble2 whatever people die of , they say they have underlying covid conditions, but that does not mean they died of covid....those three who died, how old were they and what health problems did they have...I've gone out most days since March , mixed with people and been away three times and only wear a visor to go in a shop and I'm ok....and so is everyone I know....
@Platinum It's irrelevant how old they were. just because this thing 'targets' people of age or those with 'existing conditions' (how many folk do you know who DON'T have some sort of 'existing condition' ?) Point is it shouldn't be here. It's that simple.
Of course it's important how old and how sick they are....don't you know there are 8000-9000 die every year ....it shouldn't be here...did you really say that...viruses come and go....we should not have flu or cancer but it's life.....nice chatting we won't agree on this@Picklebobble2 @Picklebobble2
@Eddiesolds Eddie. Things will be better because we will learn to appreciate the little things more. I hear you. At least another 1.5 to 2 years at least. *blows a kiss or two to you*
Here in the US the country folk appear to be denying it exists at their peril. I heard yesterday that it is starting to affect them now where I grew up. They're all overweight, smoke, and hang out at the local bar all the time. The nearest hospital is 45 minutes away but none of them have any health insurance. They were pretty isolated but the hunters brought it in. Only fifty people in the township.
With the Spanish Flu, the greatest total of deaths came in the second and third waves. Adjusted for world population, we're neck-and-neck with that plague. My guess is we're looking at a lot more illness and many more deaths.
I think most people just don't really give a shit anymore anyway. But for a time line, I say in the year 2028 when some new end of the world is fabricated. Roughly every 8 years there's another end of the world.
