"Only" Covid-19 is not a very good indicator for the general population. Yes, people have at least one additional co-morbidity factor, but that could be hypertension, diabetes, heart issues, cancer in remission, immune system issues, asthma, etc. all things that can be managed for decades until people essentially die of "old age" (yes, I know, a misnomer).
