My Yoga Teacher is a self-confessed drug addict

Obviously Yoga is not working for my yoga teacher... or at least she must not be practicing it right...to need drugs to cope with life.

Yoga is supposedly the fountain of eternal bliss and health..

I just want to know if there are other people out there whose Yoga teacher is also a drug abuser, and why they told you why they do it.

This is getting weird...each time we get deeper into Yogic psychology, our Yoga teacher talks about getting High.

Yoga has never been presented as a substitute, blocker or remedy for drug use or addiction.

Some people use hallucinogenics (not addictive, btw) to reach transcendence. Other just use drugs.

Personally yoga would push me into drug use, but that's just my take.

@DianaGyana It's really hard to speculate with so little to go on. For instance, what drug/s does she use? Why? Is she addicted or simply a user? Is there spiritual relevance to her? Etc. Pressure is one bridge to addiction, but it's largely genetic. Bottom line, if you think she's being inauthentic then find a new teacher.
