The Hygiene Contradictions of People on this Site

Dermatologists: you shouldn't be showering 2-3 times per day. That's bad for your skin and destructive to your microbiome. We've gotten too paranoid about germs. You should shower daily only if you get sweaty or dirty daily. Otherwise, you don't even need one every single day.

People on this site: Eww, that's nasty. I'm glad we're "paranoid" about germs.

Health experts: you should wear a mask in public during a pandemic in case you are carrying the virus. If you catch the virus, you won't know it right away. Be safe, and don't take that chance with the people around you.

People on this site: Ugh, y'all are too paranoid about germs these days.
I shower daily because I like feeling clean. That’s no one else’s business.
I wear masks when I go out because that may affect others.

@bijouxbroussard The Cleveland Clinic says showering daily is fine, but best to keep it to no more than once per day at most. But you bring up a good point. If masks were only to protect you, it would be no one's business. People need to learn that they cannot use their freedom to risk harming others. That's why even libertarians seem to understand the need for traffic laws.
