I am a pro choicer but I wish more people could be responsible while having sex so abortions could be avoided. I understand some unfortunate women going through hell and end up pregnant without their consent but then there are others who are absolutely careless🤦

Also planned parenthood isn't always about abortion. 😊

@IstillmissEP it seems like you don't understand the term because it's not a lie and frankly you're not making any sense. A woman should have a choice when her life is at stake. That's why it's called pro choice. Either she has a choice to end pregnancy or continue with her because it's her body, her life and it was not her choice to be pregnant🤷 In fact, pro life seems more ignorant to me than pro choice.
I have no objection to planned parenthood.

Preventing pregnancy is fine. Ending pregnancy due to rape or incest or a youthful accident or risk to the mother, okay.

The morning after pill is fine, too.

Multiple abortions, using abortion as a method of after-thought birth control, not okay.

Not so much because of a particular abortion, but because of the carelessness about human life.

There comes a time when I am responsible, assuming other options are available.

A baby is not only an inconvenient clump of cells.

@Mamapolo2016 This was the breakdown of services when I was a volunteer.
@bijouxbroussard As I said, I have no objection to Planned Parenthood.
Lucyy · 22-25, F
100%. They helped me through some tough shit I wouldn't have been able to afford otherwise 🤷 and if some other young teenager with no money or support needs help, I absolutely support them, and so by default, I support planned parenthood as well

Planned Parenthood provides like... a ton of incredibly important health care. And that's before we talk about how abortions are also important health care.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@CountScrofula Excuse you but this is America and healthcare is not welcome here. Treating preventable illnesses is what communists do! We Americans prefer to exercise our freedom to die of preventable diseases, thank you very much.

Uh, yeah. For some reason, people seem to think that they're only there to give people abortions and forget all the other shit they do, too.
PNWLilly · 22-25, F
@SW-User Exactly! And they aren't just a women's health thing either. They support and care for all genders and every single person who walks through their door. They provide very important care to all.
Planned Parenthood is my enemy
@DudeistPriest Aw man. I liked that picture. You shouldn't have deleted it smh

I think they provide a valuable resource for many people, and most especially for those who are not so financially well off at the time.

I used Planned Parenthood for health care when I was in my 20s. I appreciated them then and agree with them now.

@IstillmissEP Margaret Sager has been dead for fifty four years. And even when she was alive, at no point did she practice eugenics or mass sterilization. She was a sex educator who promoted contraceptives and safe sex to avoid sexually transmitted infections and diseases, and to avoid unwanted pregnancies.

So unless you believe the usage of condoms and birth control is "extermination" then you're making shit up. Again.
Piper · 61-69, F
@IstillmissEP Margaret Sanger seems to have been somewhat of a supporter of that rather shameful part of this country's history. Some of the general ideas of eugenics, I mean, like numerous very prominent people were.

She was never a supporter of any forced sterilization or "extermination", though, as many others were at that time. She WAS a tireless supporter of women being able to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
