In my town, in one care home, 22 residents, 10 have just passed.

Are we at risk of blaming Covid for everything.

It's a function of crowded conditions with constant, intense physical contact. Many nursing home residents can't feed themselves, can't dress themselves, can't bathe themselves, can't go to the bathroom without assistance.

Many residents are incontinent, or may drool, or may not be able to control their behavior or movements.

Some are very fragile and require more than one staff person to just transfer them from bed into a wheel chair.

Assisting them are nurses, nurse's aids, physical therapist, behavioral therapist, etc. who go from resident to resident, and in some cases may go from nursing home to nursing home.

From this experience, hopefully will come better ways to care for the compromised elderly.
