Curious to know cost of Dentistry in your Country

I was reading the paper and came across a Dentistry ad for Dental Implants.
No Prices displayed.
Curiosity saw me send them an email asking the price of full upper and lower teeth.
I was staggered with the response.
Full upper or lower...$32,000
Full set, upper and lower....$50,000
Most health insurers here do not cover implants.
Those that do charge high premiums and still only cover a small percentage of the cost.
I mentioned the cost to my GP Doctor and he said they are ripping the public off.
He also said the reason the cost is so high is so the Dentist can buy his next Mercedes😁
Uh, yeah.

The profit margin for dentistry is in the range of...WARNING SHOCK VALUE

1,500 ~ 5,000%

@Amyrakunejo They get away with it because there are enough people around with money to pay the cost.
Low income/unemployed/pensioners have no hope of affording such prices.
Those are the people who need dentistry work the most.

@TheCoolestCat Such a big help to get free medical and dentistry.
Far too costly on minimal income

yea well when i did work in the past 9 or so years ago a trip to the dentist would cost at least £100 depending on what i had done

Two operations on same person in Australia in 1991:
1. Eye surgeon: Corneal graft - surgeon cut the cornea off the eye, replaced it with another cornea, sewed the cornea on by hand. And everything associated with it. One of the best eye surgeons in the country.
2. Dentist: fix broken tooth: Charged more than the eye surgeon.

Comparable? Yeah, right!

@Abstraction There seems to be no interest with the Authorities querying this obvious price gouging.
Yet if Dentistry was affordable, them more people would be able to get work done before the teeth became ruined.

White composite filling costs me around 25 euro (41.41 AUD) with insurance. But prices wary. It could be 15€ or 95€, depends on the dentist.

Allegedly, 1 implant costs from 300-600€ (496.85 - 993.70 AUD)

@CrazyMusicLover I had a look just now, Single Tooth Dental Implant - AU$3990.00

@Gusman That's exactly why dental tourism exists.

In countries with lower standards these tend to be cheaper, even still they are expensive for their respective countries, for now implants are the best tooth replacement method known to man of course it will be expensive.
