Why would you make an 87-year old man sit in the pharmacy during a pandemic because his doctor is off in the trenches?

Give the man his insulin. It’s goddamn insulin. Wtf.

My grandfather is 87. My grandma is 80. Why are they even in a pharmacy to begin with? The risks are crazy right now, especially for these basic refills. Ship it!

Do they live in SF???

In Seattle, nearly all pharmacies are delivering FOC, even for the otherwise young and healthy.

@QuixoticSoul I KNEW IT! :)

Well, hopefully, they can avoid the scourge.

@JoeyFoxx Turns out, we were both sorta wrong - and both hampered by language differences that made our trips to European museums not especially helpful. It's only in the post-wikipedia age that we were able to resolve it.
In Russian, rapiers are most often called weapons with a bayonet-shaped blade - three-or four-sided, mainly intended for training fights.

...

In Russian, there is a fair amount of confusion between a sword and a rapier, arising from the fact that the word “rapier” translates a sport related to a weapon called the English. foil / ital. fioretto / fr. fleuret / it. florett / Spanish florete (tetrahedral piercing blade), and the word English itself. rapier / fr. rapiere / him. rapier (this word is absent in Italian and Spanish), which is often called a sword.
So yeah, we're stubborn. And I read translated Dumas very closely when I was a kid.

was it a "big chain pharmacy" or was it your local pharmacy
I know that my local pharmacy will deliver if i cant get to the pharmacy (that done have delivery) and I cant get anyone that i know to pick them up
there are lots of things the local pharmacy will do that the chains "cant"
might be time to switch them to your local pharmacy
QuixoticSoul · 36-40, M
@pdockal Maybe. I think it was a national chain, and I’m not sure what local pharmacies are in their area. This is causing some family drama though, especially those of us who are quarantined states or continents away, so we’ll push them to something else if it makes sense.

@QuixoticSoul try to find a local pharmacy as they are more likely to make an exception and find a way to help them
my mon used the delivery service from our supermarket (yes they are charging) and was upset because she didnt get her bread
so now i have to get her some (ill give her some of mine so i dont have to venture into the store)
so its time to find alternatives for your parents until this passes
and to get to know their neighbors ... someone who can help during a situation if you or your family cant get to them
under the right circumstances your local fire department (if they are volunteer) might even step up to help

Wait right there, I'm not done stalking you

Yes, and many are going to the pharmacy in search of medication to mitigate symptoms, possibly after a tele-medicine visit with a doctor. They don't meet the criteria for testing, but go in search of Tylenol, etc. The pharmacy can be dangerous, especially if they don't have automatic doors, and if people don't distance properly.
That's horrible! Sometimes rules can be bent for national emergency
