You just needa keep at it. You make it sound like it's a chore but enjoy it. You'll be having a lot less of it when the baby comes

Keep trying...also I will tell you that a woman becoming pregnant and still have a period shortly after is not that uncommon (my mom didn't know she was pregnant with me because of that). Hang in there.
