Yes. At low doses there seems outwardly to be no trouble, but not one single scientific study has determined it's long-term health effects. At higher doses, it can be extremely dangerous.

1. There's no regulation, so what you call Kratom and I call Kratom can be wildly different. Fentanyl has been found in commercially available Kratom.

2. Though not proven beyond reason, there's evidence showing Kratom is addictive. Even if it isn't physically addictive, it's a fix or substitution drug for addicts.

3. Unless you've spoken to a doctor about negative medication interactions, you're taking your health into your own hands. Seizures, illness and even death has been reported.

Among the ill effects listed by the Mayo Clinic:
Weight loss
Dry mouth
Chills, nausea and vomiting
Changes in urine and constipation
Liver damage
Muscle pain
Kratom also affects the mind and nervous system:
Dizziness
Drowsiness
Hallucinations and delusion
Depression and delusion
Breathing suppression
Seizure, coma and death
