Bearing in mind there is nothing new on the Earth, where did coronavirus originate? Some biowar lab fooling around to make GM flu?

It's like an old Hollywood sci-fi movie

Viruses can form new strains. This virus isn't new, it's a new strain of an existing virus. The coronavirus, or group of viruses.

@SW-User You mean it's Mother Nature and not ruthless men to blame? Then we're really screwed!
SW-User
@Marganitbatadam Yep, I'm afraid so.

Oh boy am I tempted to answer that one but to be frank,regardless where it came from or whos bio warfare factory it leaked out of its here and we all got caught with our trousers around our ankles,but if nothing else comes of this outbreak it would be nice to think that humanity as a whole would put differences to one side and learn that we can actually live with one another,regardless of differences,be it religious,colour,race,etc.BUT actually it might just be a pipe dream,Ah well.
Coronavirus dates back to the 1960s but it is probably older and just not identified. SARS specifically showed up around 2002. That's when it became a serious issue for us. It is found in various mammals and birds. Probably humans caught it off them

@Qwerty14 Was SARS found to be a man-made toxin for use in germ warfare?
@Marganitbatadam I find it unlikely. Labs do work with viruses, but usually to understand them and find cures. When they get out, it's usually by accident, not intention.
SW-User
Some say it originated in a lab very close to Wuhan market.
SW-User
@Marganitbatadam he might be right this time.

@SW-User And some say the Earth is flat. People saying it means nothing.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@SW-User Some people really gotta lay off the pipe.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
New pathogens evolve reliably with no conspiracies whatsoever.
Marganitbatadam · 22-25, F
@QuixoticSoul How is it that the human population of the Earth has grown so large in an Age where industrial might has not kept us up with chemical medical resilience?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Marganitbatadam Us growing so populous and the world getting ever smaller creates a perfect petri dish. These sorts of pandemics are the price of civilization, they were impossible when humans lived as isolated bands of hunter-gatherers all over the world.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
No, that's just a conspiracy theory.
Marganitbatadam · 22-25, F
@basilfawlty89 Will we have to erase all animal life in Earth to survive these global events?
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@Marganitbatadam wait what? No.
@Marganitbatadam Just stop eating bats.
