I heard rumour that in italy they have had to decide to consider only patients still economically viable, its why their figures are so high...

Nursing homes full of eighty years plus people are being bypassed?

heard they remove the old folks ventilators to give to the young

It has nothing to do with Italy. When a health care system gets overwhelmed by too many sick people, then any doctor in any country in the world has to make this decision: who will be treated and who not. It is a brutal reality.

What that means is that they are asking if the person is likely to survive.

No point using resources on someone that is going to die anyway. Especially when others can be saved.
I read that it was longevity and recovery probability being used to select treatment paths in Italy

@questionWeaver Exactly, it's not about economic viability. That would go against the grain for any health professional with any integrity.

I read that anybody over 60 is being ignored.

@Ragnarock1276 It could mean the world becomes poorer for essential non-techno-digital skills. There's so much older people know that will be lost in its entirety of the who!e babyboomer generation is lost, unless that's the idea behind unleashing this scourge on the world by the elite! An end to opposition to the realignment of what wealth they don't have!

This disease ravages the elderly and the unwell. So clearly there'll be more of the older generation dying.

Even today. Several weeks on from initial outlook. THE best defence against this thing is STILL soap and water.

So if there's preferential treatment going on its probably more to do with limited resources and better chances of success.

I don't think it was a rumour, I'm pretty sure it was news. Days ago. Also the official stats for deaths each day are known to be low because they don't include people who have died at home, not even troubling to try to reach a hospital, because capacities have been exceeded :(
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
I heard that too
ThatMusgraveWoman · 70-79, F
I would not believe that of the Italians. Not ever.
Marganitbatadam · 22-25, F
@ThatMusgraveWoman It's happening!
ThatMusgraveWoman · 70-79, F
@Marganitbatadam Unlikely.
