Is it normal to have suicidal thoughts when you've become crippled??

I've got a herniated disc in my neck and it's causing me physical pain, numbness the whole works, I've been thinking of ending it all so I don't need to deal with this anymore.... yes there's surgery but what happens if I come out more broken than what I am...

Please don’t ever resort to that. I know your pain might be worse than I could ever imagine, but please stay strong. We’ve lost our uncle for almost the same reason( unbearable back/spinal chord pain) took his own life. He was a good man and he did not deserve that tragic death he caused to himself. There were so many beautiful things he could have experienced if he chose to live.. And his passing has left permanent dark clouds to his remaining loved ones.
We only live once and will end up dying anyway so please continue to live and choose life.. Life is short already..I hope and pray you’ll get better. Stay strong .
