I studied that in college , it's good for you because you have less carbs meaning there's less sugar in your system. Less protein also leads to less sugar and the citric acid cycle slows down and glucogenesis slows down. You will end up breaking down fats as an alternative pathway through ketogenesis. Overall you use up less sugar from carbs and proteins and start utilising energy from fats. It's actually pretty good for diabetes, except you want to keep your blood levels in check because your blood can be acidic from producing too many ketones.
