both can be bad, but personally I think depression is worse
Lagrenouille · 36-40, M
the anxiety triggers are easier to avoid than the depression triggers though, that's all I'm saying... for example if being on top of a roof causes you to have a panic attack, stay off the rooftops :) where as, depression makes you feel bad about yourself, it makes you not want to do anything, and when you do get the motivation to do something, you may feel pressured to show enjoyment when you might not be enjoying anything... the triggers for depression are a lot harder to spot and avoid

@Lagrenouille: I fake a smile everyday and there are only 4 people that can see through the acting.
Lagrenouille · 36-40, M
I am truly sorry to hear you are faking a smile, I know life can be hard. I also don't know what you have going on in your life that is making it so difficult, so in stead of saying something that will cause more trouble, I'll say this: if you want someone to talk to who won't judge you, and who might be able to help a little, feel free to message me.

Both can be really crippling.
fluteacorn · 22-25, F
I need to ask my doctor of I can be tested for anxiety, we already know I have depression.
LadyWioness · 56-60, F
I suffer from both, but anxiety is far worse for me. It causes me to overthink things, and believe things that are not true. It can be debilitating for me. Depression sucks, but it passes.
They feed off of each other.

Both are horrible.
They're not really comparable in that way.
Experiences with depression and anxiety vary greatly from person to person.
fluteacorn · 22-25, F
A combination of the two has lead me self harming before. Almost did last night too.
@repeters1027: They really do make a really crappy combination. In a way they're opposites, and clash terribly.
fluteacorn · 22-25, F
@AmbivalentFriability: I think I have anxiety but I haven't been tested for it, so I am going to end up asking my doctor about testing me for it

I suffer from both and I don't think one is worse than the other. They both have the potential to be completely debilitating.
fluteacorn · 22-25, F
What does that mean?
SW-User
@repeters1027: Both of them can be so bad that they keep you from being able to live your life. So neither one is worse. They're just different beasts.
theCow · 31-35, M
They're both horrible. I like my chances better with depression. Not that it hasn't tried to kill me in the past, but that usually passes faster than anxiety.

@itsSoDuuhh: Maybe that has been true for you but it isn't fair to suggest that it's going to be the same for everyone. For a lot of people their teenage/highschool years are their absolute worst, but it gets easier after.
fluteacorn · 22-25, F
What do you mean?
fluteacorn · 22-25, F
@AmbivalentFriability: I hope that's the case for me... I hate it so much.
LoveChild · 26-30, F
Avoid both like the plague.
fluteacorn · 22-25, F
It's hard to avoid stuff like that though.

fluteacorn · 22-25, F
What exactly do you mean?
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@repeters1027: many people refuse to accept they have a mental health problem
fluteacorn · 22-25, F
@nedkelly: I realize it is a mental health problem, I just want to know which people think is worse.
horrorstories · 31-35, F
I have both
I would say anxiety
Invisible · 26-30, M
Depends one the degree
Depression. Much worse.
Silverfox420 · 36-40, F
