Has anyone here completed an extended water fast? For how long? What was your experience like?

My longest fast was 6 days. Done multiple 3 day fasts as well. I’m trying to get over the 6th day mark.

I went two weeks, under doctors orders. I can't say it was easy, but it wasn't horrible.

Wow, two whole weeks. Now that’s amazing. Did you experience any benefits? @Shayla

@SW-User I was a kid (around 11). Other than trying to rule out reasons I felt like crap, what benefits would I have seen?

When water fasting, the body works at maximum capacity in tissue proliferation to replace damaged tissue (after the detoxification mechanisms have removed the causative agent or rendered it harmless; while a short fast will reduce symptoms, a longer fast can completely heal). There are many conditions (caused by inflammation and acidity) that are greatly reduced and healed when the lymphatic system is given a chance to eliminate properly through detoxification. @Shayla

Though I would never under any circumstance recommend children undergo water fasting. Fruit fasting, maybe. But water fasting no way. @Shayla

@SW-User Yeah... I prefer modern medicine over alternative. Trust me, if you're trying to heal two weeks of fasting will not help.

@SW-User Fruit wasn't allowed. The doctor was hoping to rule out any possible reactions to any type of food that could have made me sick. Nothing worked.

To each their own. I’ve fasted and was able to save my gallbladder because of it. So I did experience healing. @Shayla

Gut issues can be worsened by water fasting unfortunately. When it comes to food sensitivities it can be a bit tricky. @Shayla
