You could be using the wrong nail clippers. One should always use a separate nail clipper for the fingernails and another for the toenails.
Fungus or dry skin?
@canusernamebemyusername I'd say dry skin, but it didn't appear as such for long
@scooogy I'm having dry skin issues and didn't know what it was from but apparently it was my thyroid levels. Lots of different reasons. Even the chlorine content changing in your shower. Although to be honest I've seen a lot of people's hands around the fingernails dry.
