I just got diagnosed with Diverticulitis. Does anyone have any solid advice on how to deal with this disease?

@Mk8155 yeah I had it for years and stayed away from all that food my doctor said your own stool can cause an infection in the pockets..... I had resection surgery 3 years ago to remove the bad part of my colon...... a foot they took out
I now live a normal life and have not had a problem since

@ninalanyon I had a serious case.... infection wouldn’t stay away
Even ended up in hospital with a perforation in my bowel..... I was one sick girl 😔

@Mk8155 that used to be the suggestion, but, medicine now says the opposite.
