My baby daughter
The doc knew I was with AIDS and never told me I breastfeed her and the doc remembered 6 months later

"Oh, yeah don't breastfeed her because you have AIDS"

@iamnikki Probably cause they thought cutting corners would produce a nicer day for the staff.

TYPICAL

They would never admit it either.

I nearly did. My life became a horror show for several years over serious medical mismanagement of a medical condition that could have been treated quite easily. It has taken me years to recover and only a few months ago did I finally locate a good doctor who is familiar with my very common condition and who is up to date on the newest treatments and drugs. As a result of medical mismanagement, I was evicted illegally from my apartment while being mistreated medically and personally in a bad hospital, lost my driver's license for a year and a half (confiscated for health reasons, not suspended), and lost half my hearing. It turned me into an old woman and I aged 10 years in one year. My recovery has been a hard fight and is still continuing. A simple common condition was turned into a catastrophic illness.

My late fiancee, she was on IV diuretics and the staff failed to monitor her potassium levels and she died of cardiac arrest.

@NativeOregonian OMG I am so sorry!!!!!

@Platoscave Thank you, her kidneys became damaged from getting addicted to alkaline water, we even had a special machine to make her own. I could not stand the taste or the burning sensation of drinking it, so I never touched it. She was convinced to stop drinking it after she spilled some on our expensive teakwood table, and it stripped the finish within seconds.
My Grandmother died while in the hospital from insulin shock. They gave her too much insulin and she hadn’t been eating her meals, staff was not communicating with each other.

I don't know anyone who has died but I know a case where a person got more sick as the doctor did a wrong surgery on the wrong part of the body as a part of the cancer treatment which eventually deteriorated her health.
I actually do and is a very sad story 😢

I don't know anyone who did, but that kinda thing happens a lot.
Yes, I do. I have been a nurse for 40 years, and I’ve seen some cases.

On the bright side, it hasn’t been many.

Most medical care is acceptably “good enough,” but especially when one is seriously hospitalized, they should have a medical advocate.

My aunt had kidney problems and went in because her legs were swelling. They took the fluids off with one drug then gave her a bunch of potassium and she had a heart attack and died.
