If you have a torn tendon in your shoulder, what's the best treatment?

depending on severity, a sling, some physical therapy, possibly surgery. my doctor tore hers playing tennis. she had laparoscopic surgery, and was mostly better in 6 weeks. without treatment, a torn tendon can take a year or more to heal.
